Heterology is an ask for the viewer to reframe their orientation to the body. In conversation with George Bataille, the work looks at ‘excretion’. Understood more literally, these are characteristics that fall under the surgical definition of ‘heterology’(which Bataille expands) as “the lack of correspondence between similar structures due to the result of unlike origins of constituent parts.”
