arms and legs takes the photo work by Wolfgang Tillmans as a reference in order to further explore pushing the image into painterly abstraction. The area of arguably most emotional weight within the original work by Tillmans - the arm entering the pant leg - is painted with various relief techniques. Instead of the flattened photographic work created by Tillmans, this painting gives further life to the affectual center of the composition through bas-relief and other abstraction techniques.
