Thick, Fleshy, and Heavy, is an abstraction of several bodies in sexual motion over each other within an environment of imagery adapted from the painter Au Hoi Lam’s depiction of subdivided apartments in Hong Kong, my own memory of living in those flats, and my current/past living spaces that contained an amalgamate of both joy and terror. If the raison d'etre for Bataille is a coital impulse, then heterology (literally interpreted as “the lack of correspondence between similar organic structures due to the result of unlike origins of constituent parts”) can be taken as framework for viewing the sexual/sensual structures of those ‘masses’ as a practice towards revolution.
